Anyone who has an earnest desire for self-knowledge and for whom the words on this page resonate. You may be a Yoga practitioner or teacher who is seeking clarity or greater depth, or you may be fairly new to Yoga. Either way, everyone is welcome as ideas of beginners and advanced are just that – ideas, the personal intentions you bring are more important. We will ask you for a few prerequisites in order for you to get the most out of the training. As soon as you decide to register for the course, we will provide you with a Pre-Training document that includes a selection of breathing techniques and asanas, which you should be familiar with.

YAMUNA DEVI

Yamuna Devi grew up in a Yogi family with an Indian father and an English mother. Her mother was a yoga teacher who studied with Iyengar and spent many years in India. Raising her with Yogic philosophy and principles, she was Yamuna's first teacher. Yamuna has since then studied the beauty of Yoga, Dance & Healing Arts for most of her life. She started training Martial Arts at a young age of 8 with Kung Fu and went on to explore various styles of dance & movement like Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop and Capoeira. She has been a professional dancer for 10 years, touring internationally in the Far East and within Europe. In 2007 she gave up her life as a professional dancer to train as a Yoga Teacher. Her first Yoga teacher trainings were in Hatha Yoga (200 hours) over 18 months in London, and also Acroyoga Level 1 in Greece. Yamuna has been a part of the Ashiyana family since 2008, and has been a core member of the Ashiyana Teacher Trainings since 2010, teaching on 14 trainings thus far. She has been sharing Yoga and working in studios and retreat centres internationally over the past number of years. She recently continued to deepen her studies by completing her Level two in Acroyoga & also deep tissue treatment modality, Alchemy of Touch. In her sessions, she draws upon her experiences of healing arts & Yoga. She is deeply passionate about her work and being a part of the healing journey of her students. Her soft and gentle approach will guide you through your practice so that you can flow with love, devotion and surrender. The style of her classes is mainly Hatha flow but she may also include circle ceremonies, partner flow, therapeutic flying and Thai massage.

ACHARYA YOGESH

Acharya Yogesh’s teachings combine the therapeutic aspects of many different Yoga practices. Born in Rajkot, Gujarat, India, he completed his post-graduate Yoga Studies at the prestigious Kaivalyadhama, in Lonavala – one of the oldest and most traditional Yoga Institutes in India. He has been teaching Yogic Philosophy, Anatomy and traditional Hatha Yoga for a number of years. As well as a master in Pranayamic and Shatkarma (cleansing) techniques, he specializes in Chakra Therapy/Cleansing and Balancing. Yogesh has been practicing as an alternative holistic healing therapist, combining the disciplines of psychological counseling, Ayurveda, Chakra therapy, Mudra therapy, Yoga and Pranic healing for over ten years. On his philosophical and spiritual journey, he has studied numerous great seekers of the truth, such as Patanjali, Osho, Buddha, G.I. Gurdjieff, Lord Krishna, Sri Aurobindo, Adi Shankaracharya and many more…not only studying their philosophy but aligning his life to live in accordance with their essence. DEVENDER BHARDWAJ

Devender is the founder of AumYogaShala and has a strong passion for yoga. He also founded the AumYogaShala Foundation to provide food, clothing, shelter, and education to underprivileged children. He aims to work for the betterment of our society and to spread the wisdom of yoga. Devender began his journey in yoga at an early age and paved the perfect path to fulfill his ambitions. He studied at the National Institute of yoga and completed his M. Sc. in yoga from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University.
